PICK UP-MODIFICATIONS
On some Engines when fitting Electronic Kit there can be a sparking problem * Weak spark * Will not Run * Not Rev Up.
This is caused by Mag Housing/Crankshaft Thickness witch Vary on Original and Pattern Parts .
Measure the Pick up height, This Should be in the Range of 9 to 11mm If you are not in the 9 to 11mm Range you need to do the following
1. Remove the Pick up mounting screw
2. To Lower the Pick up Remove the Plates Below it (Usually 2) This can be done with a new Hacksaw blade by hand
3. To Raise Add a Spacer washer or Plate Below the Pick up
4. Apply a small Drop of Loctite around screw head when tight
Check Pick Up Coil OMS should be between 93 to 96 Check Low Tension Coil OMS should be between 430 to 470 Please Note
* THE STATOR PLATE MUST BE CENTRALISED SO THAT THE CRANK IS IN THE CENTRE OF THE STATOR HOLE BEFORE RUNNING ENGINE.
* IF YOU DO NOT CHECK THIS IT CAN CAUSE STATOR TO BLUE (HEAT) & MELT COILS.
* IF THERE IS A PROBLEM IT CAN BE DUE TO A TWISTED CRANK
